Randolph can be good next to a defensive minded center, not Curry...no one can deny that hes a very good rebounder

For some teams probably . For teams looking at 2010 ? Not at all.
The Clippers right now are probably quite desperate and need to replace Brand with something now that they commited to Baron Davis . But other then that ?
Who's willing to pay Zach Randolph and the baggage he has so much money ?
Don't see anybody willing to roll the dice that much out there besides the Clipps.

Randolph is one-dimensional. A scoring PF who doesn't play D, a cancer in the locker-room, who lacks leadership skills. Just another above average player who won't mount to much.

Of course Randolph has value, this guy can score and rebound well... he just hasn't been on a solid or better team yet... the Knicks and next to Curry certainly wasn't one.
Put him next to a center that will help him out on the boards and complement him as a defender, that's the best and proper fit for him.
You do have the concerns with attitude maybe, and passing more, but obviously somebody will be willing to take those on and try to improve them. Ramdolph won't be a Knick for that much longer.
I don't remember much of anything going on with the Knicks, or his last year in Portland relating to behavior? Was there really anything significant within the last two seasons from him?

His value can't have increased since the Knicks acquired him. He's coming off a significantly worse season. Maybe one or two teams would be interested in him, but his value in general is very low.

I'm guessing this rumor is brought to you by the same people who brought you Kobe to the Knicks.

If you're into astronomy and want to learn all about black holes, I guess Zach Randolph has some value...

For his price, he's an inefficient scorer, a poor passer and a detriment on defense.
He is a good rebounder and a decent post-scorer (when he chooses to post up, which is not enough).
It seems as if the Knicks declined whatever trade was on the table because they believe D'Antoni can harness and maximize his talent.
For New York, I just feel like if the choices are A) cap relief or B) Randolph, you take the cap relief. They aren't going to be very competitive next year, even with a new coach and a high draft pick. They need to start building for the future, and Randolph (in my opinion) shouldn't be in their future plans.

This guy averaged 0.2 blocks per game and he's like 6-9, point guards like Delonte West averaged more blocks.

When the offer was most likely Cuttino Mobley and Tim Thomas for Randolph, yes, he has value.

Mobley and Thomas are on overpaid contracts but I'm really glad this one didn't go through. Randolph should be the last resort if they can't get anything from the remaining FA pool.

His value is what people are willing to pay to get him. If Walsh is rejecting deals that doesn't get back talent, it doesn't mean he has value. It simply means that Walsh wants more than he's getting offered. Doesn't mean he'll get it. In the end, it isn't what Walsh thinks, it's what the other GMs think. And so far it doesn't seem to be much.

There aren't really any top-tier bigs left on the trading block, so to some people he has value as the next best thing available, he posts some big (and deceptive) numbers afterall...

Only knicks fans would equate a dumb gm decision (in turning down a deal) as = he must have tons of value!!!
You guys do know that walsh really hasnt done much as Indiana's GM over the last 4-5 years?

Zach Randolph played next to Joel Przybilla in Portland. Przybilla is pretty much te picture you'd find next to the definition of defensive minded center. Zach Randolph scored a lot and rebounded a lot. What he didn't do was rotate on defense, get back on defense, play defense.
Someday people will start to realize that all Zach Randolph really does is put up numbers. He doesn't make the team better, or the players around him.
The Knicks were dumb not to trade him for cap space. Portland was lucky to get Fernandez, James Jones and Channing Frye for him....not to mention all of his salary gone so they could be FA players this next off season

Zach did continue to have problems in portland into his last season. Before the season started he had a little rape charge that he had to fight. Prior to that he had drag racing with guns in the car, and dont forget the infamous going to a strip club on the way to the airport right befor heading out for a funeral. Zach is really not a bad guy and I dont think it is fair to call him a cancer as he is not a leader but he is just stupid and cannot get away from his gang related friends of the past. He will never be on a winning team because what he does on the floor is not conducive to winning.
