I know Kobe made it look reachable, but to score 100 points, a player needs to be on fire(like shooting 70% or so) and needs to take 50-60 shots, while going to the line at least 15-20 times. It's not that easy.

I think Kobe's 81 could be the closest that we can see of anyone reaching Wilt. There's really not a scorer of that magnitude in the league who is capable of taking that many shots and the league as a whole is leaning more towards the team play idea.

I could definitely see one of his 40 + pt game streaks to be challenged in the upcoming seasons.

I think that Oberto came close with 12/12. Its not unbreakable - big man getting easy shots under the basket and going hot on hook shots.

It takes a player, teammates and a coach willing to give one guy that many shots in a game which is totally unnatural. Not to mention an opponent that is either dumb enough to let you or really really bad defensively.

David Robinson had over 70 in a combined attempt to get him the scoring title. He had his coach and teammates feeding him. 41 FGA and 25 FTA and he had it. Mind you his opponent tried everything to stop him which does make it remarkable. (it was the clips though...)

Only looking at basketball related records, Wilt's 55 rebounds is the record I can never see get broken. 100 points might be doable, but 55 rebounds isn't. When you consider that those 55 were against Bill Russell, it only makes it that much more impressive.
