What an offseason the Clips would have if they pulled the trigger on that.

You know you all want a piece of Zach Randolph. All of these are just rumors. Who knows what was really on the table. Besides, Zach is not useless. He's a 26 year-old PF that can give you a consistent 20-10 every night, with 2 assists per game. Paired with the right center and the right team, he can be useful. He didn't have off-court issues on the Knicks compared to when he was with the Blazers. He just had on-court issues. You know what I mean. He's worth more than cap relief though. I agree though, asking for Eric Gordon is too much....but DeAndre Jordan would be nice.

Walsh turned down LAC's offer of a 2nd round pick, which would completely rid New York of Randolph's mammoth contract and put them in a much better position for the future...

I actually think that Randolph on the Clippers could work out well. The problem of course is that either he joins the team, helps them out tremendously and the clippers make the playoffs. Or it going to be an utter disaster.

BUT as of right now, the clippers have a giant hole at PF, and it needs to be filled. I am not sure how good Gordon is going to be, but the clippers seem like they want to compete now (I assume with the signing of baron).

I like the lineup of Davis, Thornton, Randolf, Kaman and Mobley (or whoever else they want to throw at SG).

If I was the clippers though, I would hold out on making any trades until some of the other key Free agents are signed. Josh Smith, Okafor, Deng, etc are a much, much better option than Randolf. He really would be the last option for them.

Brand for a second round pick doesn't do Walsh any good. He's far better off finding a team that sends him back a player under contract for a year or two that they don't want packaged along with a guy who may actually help the Knicks this season and in the future. Money doesn't matter to the Knicks so paying more this season or next means very little if they got the guy they wanted.

Had the Clippers offered next year's unprotected first round pick I think the Knicks would have had to consider it more because, while there would be a chance that Davis, Randolph, Kaman and the crew could have succeeded out west I think there's an even better chance that such a team gets trampled by the western conference powers, Davis shuts it down with his new contract and home in LA, Randolph decides he doesn't like playing defense and Kaman is overwhelmed on his own and the pick winds up being pretty high.

Randolph still could be a nice piece on a few teams. Not a lot of value and fans around these parts might not want to admit it but I think Randolph could potentially grab a slightly shorter contract (2-years) and a solid prospect or a combination of role players that the Knicks could use.

Thankfully we got the Knicks and Clippers to provide us with entertaiment in the boring offseason lol. If you are the Knicks and you are trying to rebuild you got to take that offer in consideration, that TE could be huge at the trade deadline. I would do it just to get rid of the guy as cleanly as possible and not take any other stupid contracts in return. He is the most useless stat guy in the league.

Randolph + Davis is a disaster waiting to happen. I can't believe the Knicks didn't trade him for cap relief and a 2nd round pick.

The Knicks refusal to fully rebuild has cost them 5-6 years.
