Knicks' Stephon Marbury gets Starbury tattoo
by Frank Della Femina/NJ.com
Tuesday July 15, 2008, 11:57 AM

"Starbury", by far one of the most popular nicknames for the Knicks' Stephon Marbury, takes on an all new image with his recent artistic endeavor. Deadspin has the story and a picture:

It's probably as subtle as you can get for a head tattoo and it clearly shows that for all of his questionable, unhinged behavior of the past year, Marbury is still a very savvy businessman. It's completely logical. One person asks, "Hey, what's that funny symbol on your head?" and then you just nail them with the cheap sneakers pitch. Ka-ching.

A clearer shot of the pic is up at Posting and Toasting.

Just last week, Stephon Marbury announced a shoe deal with Amazon.com. Marbury's current status with the team remains in question, as rumors circulate that newest acquisition Chris Duhon may put Marbury in staunch competition for the starting role.

One of the very few people that can pull off this ridiculous look. I was expecting much worse after hearing about it.

Yeah you know honestly. I don't even like tattoos. But that is pretty sweet. Must be nice to not have to worry about ever getting another job.

meh, it's cool but he should have made the shading a little less wider; from far away it would look like a large birthmark on his head.

A few things....

- Neck, face, and head/or tattoos are ridiculous unless you are Mike Tyson or Bam Bam Bigalow, and even then your pushing it.

- Any type of logo or trademark does not belong on any-ones body, this goes especially for all you Yankee and Mets fans.

- Taking into consideration his erradic behavior, I can only assume that Tom Cruise and the Scientologist faithful are closely monitoring the situation and have already worked on several drafts of a recruitment letter plaguerized from Georgia Tech documents recovered from Mr. Marburys' bureau.
“And where once you had the freedom to object, to think and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillance coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission.” -V
