It's too bad they traded for Jermaine O'Neal. Should have waited to get Okafor.

^^Not a big deal. Okafor would command a lot of cash, especially because he is a big. I don't think him and Bosh are a champion piece. Rather see Colangelo do something else.

Back on topic though, cannot judge the source. I'm not sure Okafor would wait a year (and potentially get injured) and then leave. Bringing in L. Brown should show him the team is trying to move in the right direction.

Who's Okafor and What's Charlotte?

Denver might be an option for a S&T.

Okafor to Detroit, perhaps? Sheed (if not in the deal, could well be)/Emeka would be quite a PF/C pairing, and like Sheed/Ben, in ways, of how they complement each other on both ends.

I want to see Emeka back in Charlotte, though.

Okafor for Varejao? That'd be horrible, and isn't happening.

Okafor for Marion? I'd definitely like it for Miami, continuing to do things the right way in a big way over the last decade plus. But am definitely mixed on it for Charlotte.

Okafor for Harrington or Biderins? Big-time blah for Charlotte. Harrington also doesn't strike me as a Larry Brown player.

Okafor to the Bulls I like the best, overall. Also the most realistic to me.

since we're all on the thread of putting him on our fav team....Okafor on the Knicks doesn't look so bad.

Does anyone else think that its a mistake by Memphis not to try to use some of their cap room this year? There seems to be a lot of really good players without contracts that they could make a run at. I am not sure who they think they will be able to sign next year.

They could sign Okafor this year, and still have around 15 million next year to grab a player. I would think a core of Okafor, Gay, Mayo and Conley could be quite intriguing, especially with the potential to land another big time free agent next year.

The reasoning for that trade btw is to give Charlotte cap room next year and give Brown some veteran players as well. Daniels and Thomas are both expiring contracts and Pecherov is a nice young project. The first rounder in 2010 is a throwin.
