Artest Domino Effect
What team needs to make a trade now like Phoenix and Dallas with the Pau Gasol trade last season?

Re: Artest Domino Effect
Well, it's still the off-season...so I doubt there'll be many teams rushing to make moves the way Phoenix and Dallas did near the deadline last year. Plenty of time to see how things shake out.
*IF* the Lakers were as hot on Artest's trail as some rumours suggested, they may feel a little pressure. It's one thing to lose out on a guy you were chasing, quite another to see him go to a competitor.
Also, the Jazz, who have played the Rockets in the first round two years running, may be a little more worried than they were last week. But they are a conservative organization and are unlikely to do anything rash just to keep up an arms race.

I think the Spurs are the team that needs to make a move if they want to win another title. They are a year older and acquiring Mason isn't enough to put them over.

The Spurs have been the best team for nearly the past decade. They havent fallen off that much.

The Spurs are still a great team in that year older.
Long-term, I think they have two-three years left (assuming they continue to make moves to stay around the top). Also, now, they are going to have younger role-players in Mahinmi, Mason Jr., Hill, Tolliver and/or Gist, maybe somebody else added this summer. I can definitely see them making a move by the deadline, to add somebody solid.
