Jason Kidd sat and watched the final 20 minutes of Team USA's friendly competition against Russia from the bench Sunday, his warm-ups never coming off. Coach Mike Krzyzewski, when asked why he benched Kidd, was in the middle of answering during his postgame interview when Kobe Bryant interrupted with a two-word explanation: "He's old." ESPN.com.

This was not said in fun.....don't play it off.

Is this the Coach's job or not. The question is should players play and let the coach's coach.
Was it right what Kobe did to Kidd and to Coach K ??? 8-)

Imho Kobe should have been a good teammate and zipped his lip....... 8-)

Big deal. If it was anyone else than Kobe who made a joke like that, no one would even care to notice.

Just one question. Would you open this thread if it was Paul Pierce instead of Kobe?

Kidd is the most experienced ball handler on the team. He doesn't need the practice before the Olympics start. Kidd has the right frame of mind and he will be ready to play the real games.

I think the NBA should suspend him 2-3 games for his blatant ageism.

Given Kobe's rapport with Coach K and most importantly Jason Kidd, this doesn't even matter. May be a "bad joke" but certainly nothing degrading and I'm sure they'd have just laughed it off.

The interview doesn't tell us what tone it was said in. Regardless....it's nothing.

ahhhh question my motives.......does it matter my answer?????

Yes it would be wrong..in my eyes unless Pierce was the Coach.
But If it was Pierce who said it would YOU start a thread about him saying something about Kidd???
I'm consistent bro. I don't give pass nor do I nutsnuggle. Kobe or whomever should have kept his place and let the coach do his thing. All the other stars did. If the shoe was on the other foot and he (Kobe) was getting a rest and another star has 2 cents to say about it, alot of fans would have got pissed off about it.......... 8-)

I seriously doubt you would have opened this thread had it been PP. Either way, a simple, "Kobe, please don't do something like that again" is probably the way to go here if you're coach K. It's really not a big deal. It's not like he was arguing with K over who to play or who to bench or some type of big coaching decision.
