I think Dwight could do it if he wanted to.

Dwight has a 9'4 standing reach, even if Dwight had a 40 inch vertical, he would still be 4 inches short.

That's if he goes up with both arms straight up, since that's the standing reach measurement. If Dwight was allowed to reach up with one hand, he could might touch 13 feet. He'd gain at least a few more inches by being able to turn his shoulders a little to raise that one arm a little bit higher.

sorry , but that is not how vertical is measured. standing reach is measured by holding one hand up with both feet close together and flat on the floor, then you jump and hit the highest point on the tester, you take those two numbers and that calculates your vertical.

generally a post player will stretch in their standing reach measurment with one hand, because scouts want a high number from post players and are less concernt with standing reach from guards

anyway, stretching or turning one's shoulder is irrelevant

I'm quite sure that Wilt could do this. He dunked on a 12 foot hoop, so I am sure that he could touch 13 feet. Same goes for Michael "wild thing" Wilson who played for Memphis and the Globetrotters. He dunked on a 12 ft hoop at 6'5. Amazingly impressive.

For someone who can palm the ball easily, being able to touch 12'5" is probably just enough to dunk on 12 feet.

I wish he could have worked on his basketball skills more than jumping. He is a world class athlete, and perhaps he would be more successful in another sport like the high jump or triple jump.
