But in all honesty a mixture of what everyone has said already, in work out's it's to hide your skinniness, it keeps your body warm to avoid muscle pulls, to sweat more for better conditioning, and because if there is a lot of sitting and talking to coaches or watching plays it can get cold.

Probably the same reasons why Dirk wears sweatpants.

Probabley to cover up the herion track marks.

so they can sweat more in a shorter period of time to make it look like they are working harder than they really are thus allowing them to probably get let out of practice early, lol, just a theory.

Some people prefer long sleeves. David Beckham wears long sleeves during outdoor games in the intense heat. The best bowler in the NBA is Damon Jones. I heard that he's really good.

i guess so when other players guard them they dont have to deal with the sweat on the arms...
