wow

if they ink Smith, Grizz will look pretty good...putting pressure on the Hawks to make a decision now...if the Hawks lose Smith, I feel very bad for that fan base, a horrible blow to them this off season...they should certainly match I would think...

Gasol I am assuming? MAYBE Darko, but with the way they have hyped Gasol and praised him, I am thinking he will be there initially...

Completely forgot about Gasol. Gasol, from what it seems like, might be a better version of Pryzbilla.

That's a pretty wicked young trio of Mayo, Gay, and Smith. I'm not really sold on Conley and Gasol is a wild card for me.

Damn, they could be dangerous Grizz with that youth movement and all.

Gasol
Smith
Gay
OJ Mayo
Conley

But i think Smith and gay are too damn close in their game its not good, smith is more inside player but both cant really create for others or for themselves.

Nice, finally something is happening around Smith. Apparently, they're trying to sign Iranian center Hamed Ehadadi, too. Young lineup to watch out for in the upcoming years.

5 years $58 millie is a pretty good deal for Smith considering some of the other offers around the league...if he continues to grow, this deal will be one of the bigger steals in a season or two...

That's a damn good deal for Smith. He's better than Deng, that's for sure.

58/5, that's less than Okafor/Deng/¿Iguodala? money and Josh Smith was supposed to be the highest ranked FA (maybe because he was supposed to bolt?), so I guess ATL will match (plus, they dont have to spend the money on Childress)

The Hawks have got to match 5/58. Why wouldn't they?

This team would score 115 points for game.
Conley-Mayo-Gay-Smith-Gasol or Warrick

But i'am sure Smith will stay @ Atlanta.

Iavaroni didn't seem like he was a fan of Darko, but I imagine he's still the starter until Gasol pushes him out. Darko is only 23 and entering his, what, fifth year? Even though they might like Gasol more, he has to earn the starting spot.

Anyhoo. That's a young team. THey'll be looking to Gay as the leader and Smith as the do-it-all power forward. Darrell Arthur's minutes are gonna be cut until they find a place for Hakim Warrick. This team would benefit from having someone like Reggie Evans coming off the bench, even if they had Smith.

Also, after reading the article, he hasn't received the offer yet, which means he hasn't signed it. That's probably why sites like ESPN, CBS Sports and Fox Sports haven't reported it.
