I would not put to much stock in the game. From the info i've gathered from Greece fan is that they play halfassed in pool play then turn it on when it "counts'" Except when they played in the most important game in International basketball vs Spain in 2006 and forgot how to walk. So if the US wins, it's not supposed to mean anything I guess. I think they plan to go 2-3/3-2 in pool play, beat who ever they play in the semi final then lay down again in the gold medal game. Do I have it right Greece fan?

Fotsis and Glyniadakis are former NBA players just like Spanoulis.

Also, Printezis is an NBA draft pick like Sofo.

So what exactly is this strange highlighting criteria you keep using?

It means that NBA players still own their rights. I don't really care though, that was just an added bonus, nobody cares since they don't even come over to play, and even if they do they suck so then they leave.

Greeks have a weakness. They like to party. It is well documented that after they beat the US they partied all night long. They were basically hung over and had no sleep when they played Spain in the final. So yeah that one game doesn't fit that normal strategy of theirs.

You should look at the 2007 European Championship for a better understanding.

Greece played against Spain (the home team as the championship was held in Spain) without their starting power forward Antonis Fotsis and also without Schortsanitis. Both were out for the tournament. In pool play Spain beat them by 18 points.

In the semifinal game against Spain they lost by just 5 points, even without two of their best players, on Spain's home floor. Greece was actually up by 5 points with 3 minutes to go in the game then a series of questionable calls went in Spain's favor. That's pretty typical of the difference between Greece in pool play and Greece in a knockout game.

It's doubtful that Greece's coach will want to show any cards at all against the USA in the early stage, so they may play much as they did against Spain.

So Spanoulis sucked? That's why he left?

Never made the Rotation on the Rockets.. meaning he wasn't NBA bound.. San Antonio wasn't going to play him either.

Then why is Printezis not highlighted? The Raptors own his rights.

That's good that partying is so unique to Greek players. I don't think USA and Greece will meet after this.

I'm sorry, I don't know the Greeks players that well to know if every single one has been drafted into the NBA or not. I only knew "Baby Shaq" because of 2006 and Spanoulis because he actually played in the NBA.

I was just trying to figure out the highlighted players thing. You do it in all of the game threads and I couldn't figure out what criteria you were using. I thought it might be NBA players and draft picks but you always seemed to miss some guys that played in the NBA or were draft picks. Now I understand though.

Guys currently in the NBA or unsigned draft picks (it's just that you don't know most of the foreign draft picks so you leave them out often). I see what you are doing now.
