Why haven't the following players been signed?

Why haven't the following players been signed?

Andre Iguodala
Ben Gordon
Bonzi Wells
Carl Landry
Devin Brown
Dorell Wright
Fred Jones
Jannero Pargo
J.R. Smith
Kirk Snyder

With some players such as Iguodala it's basically a foregone conclusion he resigns with the Sixers but when looking at the other players on that list why is it that the majority of those players have received little to no interest from teams around the league when they're clearly better than some of the small time scrubs that are being signed? Is there something wrong with these players? Are NBA GM's just sleeping on them?

I'd love to hear what everyone's opinion on this is and on if there are any other free agents out there who have inexplicably flown under the radar.

Well, a number of them are restricted FAs. Team X may not want to commit an offer to a player, wait a week while the incumbent team takes its sweet time, then find out the incumbent team has matched...therefore Team X has not only missed out on the guy they wanted, they've wasted a week and possibly seen other guys drop off the market.

Also, Gordon and Iguodala are apparently demanding a lot more money than anyone can/will offer. No mystery there.

Most of them are asking for more money than teams are willing to give them.

Take Ben Gordon, for instance. He reportedly wants around $12 million/year -- which he ain't gonna get. The Bulls reportedly are offering him between $9-$10 million/year (which, IMO, is fair value for a guy who can score but is still pretty one-dimensional as a player). Neither side seems interested in backing down from what they want, either.

The scare of going to Europe for bigger money is holding off a lot of teams on guys like Gordon and Landry. They could be bluffing to get more cash (and it's not working, apparently) and are playing the waiting game. For guys like Snyder, Jones, Wright and Brown, though, I don't think they'll get more than minimum deals judging by what they did over the last few years. They've either put up decent numbers on bad teams or fell into the lower rungs of good teams' rotations.

J.R. Smith, Pargo, Wells and Quinton Ross will get deals soon I think. Pargo to the Spurs has been on-and-off for a few weeks, and Wells would be a good placeholder for Posey's spot in Boston if nobody else is ready for it. Ross is a defensive specialist who isn't really THAT great at it, but enough to get a roster spot, and Smith will fit somewhere, probably in a sign-and-trade seeing as the Nuggets are kind of rebuilding.

Id like to see JR in a Boston uniform instead of Miles or Bonzi

We have probably about 1.35 mil left of the MLE. I would love to give that to Bonzi. We might have our bi-annual too.

Every team should be bidding for Darius MIles. According to his agent he regularly dunks from the free throw line, has range all the way out to half court and has recently cured cancer. Great pick up for any team.

Oh, and Danny Granger.

You can take Iggy off that list.

I wonder how many of those players scare teams away with their head-case reputations.

denver doesn't want to outbid themselves on smith.

as soon as another team offers the MLE (or higher, i believe), they'll match.
