Another reason why the Fox network is stupid beyond reason.
http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/pgStory?co ... to=84551481. Battier
2. Marion
3. Yao
4. Horry
5. Wade
Do you agree?
I for sure as hell don't. -- How do you find a player such as Horry, overrated? Let alone, the others.....

Don't agree with the list but I can see why they said these players were overated
1)Battier-He's a good defender but his defensive ability became overated
2)Marion-For the type of player he is he's not but being paid like 17M a year he is overated
3)Yao-For being like 7'6 he should be dominating in the league so yeah I can see why they say he is
4)Horry-Salary wise not overated but a few lucky shots made him overated
5)Wade-Not overated but over hyped, basically like the 76ers Allen Iverson

I'm not understanding this...he's not overrated...but he's overhyped? Please explain.
And this whole list is pretty horrible. Why even mention Robert Horry? He's a role player, that's what he does. Nothing more. Same with Battier.

LOL watch the miami Heat is going to win the championship next season
FOX has already overtaken BSPN
The only legit player on there may be Marion

Overrated and underrated labels last about a season. I'm sure the writer is having second thoughts about calling Wade overrated right now.

I mean even in Wade's worst year (Rookie year excluded)
The guys numbers are: 25 PPG, 7 APG, 4 RPG on 46%.

I'd say Yao, but you can very well make a case for Marion.
TMK, not many have claimed Marion to be the best or 2nd best SF in the league. He's what he is, the ultimate garbage player who does everything (litte things, included) that help a team be successful.
I don't think that's overrated...

Wade got his criticism last season...Barkley, Van Gundy, Jackson, etc...most announcers clowned the Heat whenever they had the chance...Wade and Riley got it the most..and rightfully so.
Nobody rated Wade with Kobe and Lebron, so i dont really get how hes overrated....

It is a fair list. Horry especially. He is Mr. Right Place at the Right Time.

Ahem.... muresan, bradley, manute... being 7'6 does not automatically = dominance... come on ppl.. use some common sense.

How is Battier even overrated? Outside of knowledgeable basketball fans, he's hardly noticed.

Wade I don't agree with...He proves on the court time and time again why he is legit...
Marion I think is overrated because for a player getting 17 million he should be great at least one facet of the game he rebounds well, gets those scrappy points but he is no special thing in him...
Yao is NOT overrated when he is healthy this guy averages 26 and 9 with good defense...He could do a lot of things well for a bigman especially hitting his FT's....
Battier is overrated...for a guy like him to be a good defender and hit 3 pointers because of attraction from Yao and T-Mac is a thing many players in the league can do ala Bruce Bowen,Anthony Parker IMO his defense is overrated as he is mentioned as a great or elite defender at times...
Robert Horry is at times overrated for winning 7 titles but he is clutch and you cant take that away from him he alone has won some titles alone for teams by hitting big shots

Ok, so Yao and Wade are overrated because they are have been injured sometimes in the last years?
1. Battier - no way
2. Marion - maybe the Phoenix Suns Marion stats are overrated, but the player is not overrated.
3. Yao - no way, almost everyone thinks D12 is better now.
4. Horry, not overrated, not underrated.
5. Wade - no way

Put those 5 guys on a team, give them a decent PG, and they win the NBA championship.
The only guy I think even belongs in the discussion is Marion. D Wade will re-establish himself as a top 5 player in the league, Battier is so much more then statistics, Yao is the better center in the league, and Horry has earned the recognition that he gets as a big game player.

Battier overrated? I always thought that he was one of the 'underrated' players.

I don't see the justification at all...
Battier - So, his defense is overrated? Is he not one of the best perimter defenders in the league? Behind Bowen. I mean like, that's all he's known for. Is being the guy who can shut down the opposing teams #1 option. So that makes him overrated? It's not like people are saying he should be an all-star. Just an excellent defender most teams would love to have slotted at the 3 spot.
Marion - This is funny because years ago a lot of people would consider him underrated. Solid defender, one of the best rebounders at his position and the ability to score 20 points a game. No, it doesn't warrant $17 million dollars a year but it also doesn't warrant being labelled "overrated" He's viewed as an all-star. Is that not what he is?
Yao - At 7'6" does he not dominate at his position? How many people in the league can honestly check him in the post. He doesn't dominate like he was expected to coming into the league but I don't think anyone is expecting that anymore. What I think people see from Yao is one of the toughest matchup at the center position if not THE toughest matchup at the center position today. How does being the best player at your position in the entire league make you overrated?
Horry - Again, all he's seen as is a clutch performer. And throughout his entire career he's come through in the clutch. Nobody's gonna run out and build a franchise around him though. But definately someone everyone would love to have on their bench... age is a factor though.
Wade - One end of season injury and he's considered overrated? But I can see what your saying with the over hype thing. After the championship a lot of people were placing him above LeBron James in that draft class. Which is just unbelievable.

I really don't think that's a bad list.
