carmelo's thugness

if anyone watched the usa vs argentina game, u mite have seen that melo almost got into a fight, with i believe, luis scola.
i think all usa players should leave that dumb fighting mentality behind since THEY ARE representing all of usa. it kind of leaves a bad impression on us, and the world is hating on us as it is...so in a basketball perspective, i think jason kidd, kobe, bosh, and howard are the only 4 players who know how to keep some cool. other players are fine, but carmella needs to calm his @$$ down.
if u look at some replays, you could see he was getting in the face of some argentina players and the argentians would just walk away(which actually shows class, on world stage sports)...maybe some of our players can learn something from foreigners.

It was only one incident where i think he overreacted to the subtle goonishness , otherwise you have to come to the defense of your teammate.
and i think you are overreacting if this had been a regular occurrence the whole tourney i could see where you are coming from.

I think he was just having Dwight's back(not that he needs it) more than anything. Melo had a poor game shooting the ball but he was our best hustler today along with Bosh

I've never liked Crymelo because he just doesn't seem like a good person. The way that he acts on the court just makes him look bad. It's not just this game against Argentina, but throughout his career.

Dwight keeps out of fights, but he very easily loses his composure. I was impressed with how he handled the situation today.

Dont worry, if any **** broke out - Carmelo would back pedal his fastest and go hide.

But not before taking a swing.

Nocioni´s thugness >>> Anthony´s thugness

Seriously, Anthony needs to learn to keep his focus and stop trying to "fight every battle" . Yeah, you have to step up for a teammate, but there´s no use in ticking off like that in such a big game . Especially not when the one who got hit is a) pretty much able to handle himself and b) stays 100% calmer than Anthony did ...

Race has nothing to do with it. Nobody's calling Ray Allen a thug.

No offense but if I was playing against the most underrated flopping team in the history of basketball I'd probably lose my cool at least one or two plays as well.

Oddly enough we were getting booed before Melo almost got into it. Then the Chinese fans seem to kind of stop the hating for team USA. I think the fans saw some fight in team USA they liked. I actaully like when players have passion for the game, as long as not punches are thrown, am down to see a bit of confrontation.

Yes it does. No one Called Bill Lambeir a thug. He was just an intense, hard nosed competitor. But the second a black guy shows some emotion and intensity on the court hes a thug

Yes they did call Lambier and all the pistons on thugs lol
Are you defending Nocionni who is being called a goon? No. Is it because he isn't black?
Get off it. Race has nothing to do with how you act and represent your nation!

But it affects how a situation is seen by certain people

Sounds like Carmelo is accurately representing his country to me.
