If you were an NBA team owner, would you be willing to offer a coaching contract to Mike Krzyzewski? If so, how much do you think he is worth?
He seems to be able to coach NBA superstars like Kobe, LeBron, as evident from the Beijing Olympics.

No.. I think it is the time for Isaiah Thomas to revindicate himself with America, and coach Team USA.

He had his chance to coach the Lakers and get a significant raise in salary, but he turned it down. If he won't coach the greatest team ever in the history of sports than he's not going to coach in the NBA.

It was probably a timing issue.
Things might have changed since. Maybe the Beijing Olympics has given coach K a big boost in his desire to coach an NBA team.

I actually didn't think our team was coached that well..
either way though, he'll get offers, but I doubt he would actually take one..at least he's had success in college..an NBA job means you need good players to be successful..your players can make you look a lot better than you actually are..see: Sam Mitchell, Flip Saunders, Mike D'Antoni..

I think 28 of 30 teams will offer him contracts.
He will probably take an nba job. He just had a taste of winning at one of the highest levels. Its like a drug, he will want more and thats going to take the nba not the ncaa.

I don't think so.
Many teams already have a coach in place they can trust like Phil, Pop, Doc, Mo, Scott, Mike, Nate.
And if he didn't want to coach Kobe and the Lakers, I don't think he would coach anywhere but Duke.

There is no way in hell Hoosier Nation would accept that.

But yeah I'd do a 3 year deal, but the game is so much different than the NCAA. And his teams have not done so hot there lately.

Duke results hasn't been so good lately... plus he has probably accustomed to College and FIBA, and that's different to NBA. I'm not impressed.
But...

BRING HIM!

Johnny Davis could coach Team USA to a gold. Coach K's flame burnt out a long time ago.

How many times has the college to NBA jump failed?
The problem with someone like Krzyzewski is that he has no NBA experience and would demand a huge contract.
He should stay where he's at. There's a big difference between having a top recruiting class every year and being to scream at them and coaching multimillionaires.

Maybe, but Larry Brown and George Karl couldn't do it... K won a championship in 2001 and was a possession away from winning another in 2004, he also has far and away the best winning percentage since 2000. So much of college basketball is recruiting and he's had some big misses that have prevented him from having a real contender in the last few years, but he's still as good a coach as there is in the college game.
I'm sure there would be interest, I HIGHLY doubt that Krzyzewski would entertain the possibility at this point. He's 60 years old and he had many chances to make the jump including a great offer from a great franchise, he turned it down. In his mind, after winning the gold, he has absolutely nothing to prove. I think he would be successful at the next level because he's a great defensive coach, but like at the top of the college game, so much of it is your personnel.

i would let Coach K coach any basketball team he wanted too... i believe he is, without a doubt, the best basketball coach in the world... period.
but he is too good for the nba and had too much pride to be embarrassed by ko-me and the lakers. but he will never leave duke... ever.
