$20M for Andrew Bynum?
$20M is a stretch, but anybody else think could get a +$17M per offer?
Okafor and Jefferson are not legit 7 footers and Bogut seems to have a low ceiling.
anybody think a bad team will bust up the market and offer Andrew a Shawn Marion or Rashard Lewis size of contract?

2 yr, 20 mil is completely underpaying him. he'll easily get more.
2 yr, 20 mil per yr is beyond his maximum salary.

Re: $20M for Andrew Bynum?
If Yao Ming is getting 15 Mils a year, Bynum is only worth half of the price
If Rashard is getting 20 Mils a year, Bynum is worth more than that
If Okafor is getting 12 mils a year, Bynum is exactly what he is

Re: $20M for Andrew Bynum?
I believe the maximum contract he can get from a team other than the Lakers is something like this:
(assuming the Max contract for a player with his experience level is $14 million next year)
1 $14,000,000
2 $15,120,000
3 $16,240,000
4 $17,360,000
5 $18,480,000
$81,200,000 total or $16,240,000 per year
The Lakers could offer him six years and 10.5% raises though.
1. $14,000,000
2. $15,470,000
3. $16,940,000
4. $18,410,000
5. $19,880,000
6. $21,350,000
for a total of $106,050,000
and an average of $17,675,000
based on those assumptions Bynum could get an average salary of "only" $16.2 million from another team. If he wants a sign-and-trade he could indeed command an average salary of well over $17 million.

Re: $20M for Andrew Bynum?
I think he should get around 12 million a year, Okafor is a better player right now but Bynum has the potential to be much better, about 40 million for 3 years would be a good deal making it starting at around 11 then going to 12.5 then to 14.5 a season respectively. The only way I would give a guy that hasnt proven much and has had injury problems a big, long contract is if it is largely incentive based.
Go Knicks!

the max is 25% of the league salary cap for less than 6 years (or is it 5?) experience

Re: $20M for Andrew Bynum?
How quickly people forget the various albatross contracts given to "potential" big men in the league. Bynum might become a poor man's Shaq but he could just as easily become Kwame Brown. Lets see him play a full season before we start throwing Yao sized (no pun intended) contracts at him.
