NBA Games via Satellite

Assuming I don't want to get the NBA Package (but it seems I will have to from what I've heard), and I want to order the local sports channel down in Miami, FL to watch Miami Heat games over here in Charlotte, NC; would the local affiliates/NBA blackout those games feeding outside of their local viewing area?

Down in So. Florida, all of the Heat games are shown on Sun-Sports, for example, and I am only interested in watching Heat games, so I thought for $15/year I can order the Sun-Sports channel via DirectTV and have all my Heat games, instead of paying $160 for the NBA Package. But, I was told that they are usually blacked out to other markets. :dontknow:

Also, for those who have the NBA Package (for Cable, and not Satellite), do they show ALL the games each and every night? -- And, what team broadcast feed is usually played, or can you choose?

They block them out. That's what I tried to do at first too. I have Directv and I tried buying just the Sports Pack and getting all the FSNs which is like $15. Then when the game starts, you get a message saying like "In order to purchase this" or whatever contact extension x5555. It's so annoying because when the game isn't on you can see all the other programming, but they block out the game specifically. The only option is to buy the League Pass, which is worth it. They show every game each and every night unless it's on ESPN, TNT, ABC or your local station that you should be able to see anyways. Usually they show the home teams feed, so when your Heat are on the road, you're gonna have to deal with the other teams commentators homerism but it's not that bad. If you really want to watch every game, go with League Pass.
