Don't worry. This isn't a case of Jason Kidd paying off a Charles Barkley-sized gambling debt. He's just fulfilling a promise to Elaine Wynn of Wynn Casino fame. "Last summer, we stayed at the Wynn for (what seemed like) a lifetime, close to three weeks," Kidd told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. "We met at a banquet, we got to talking, and she really understands the game. I told her I'd make a deal with her, that if we won the gold medal, I'd give it to her. She thought I was kidding. But I told her I had one already, and the way they treated us at the Wynn, it was the least I could do."

The medal itself is just an object that symbolizes what the team achieved. Giving the medal to someone else doesn't take away that achievement, so what Kidd did is his own business and shouldn't be criticized.

Its not a casino hostess. Its the wife of Billionaire Steve Wynn. Who owns the Wynn hotel in Vegas. She became friends with Kidd while the USA team was staying there for 3 weeks this summer.

She is an older lady -- probably mid 60's , super rich ..maybe Kidd likes the cougars?

Mid-60s isn't really a cougar. I say 40-50's. 55 at the latest. But I think he thinks she's a GILF.

Steve Wynn doesnt own the the Wynn hotel.
he is a part owner and was in charge of the planning of the hotel.
most of the hotel belongs to a Billionaire from Japan.

Actually, Wynn Resorls Limited Owns the hotel. It is a publicly traded company and Steve Wynn is the chairman and CEO.

In addition, he is the major sharholder of his company owning - 24,007,536 in the company stock and those shares are currently trading for $92+ ( which is head and shoulders above any investor and or institutions stake in the company.

You may have read somewhere that a japanese investor put up some cash to build the hotel but it was most like angel investor or venture capitalist. Wynn is known as one of the best to raise capital for his projects.

But I digress.... Funny story about Steve Wynn... A huge art collector was showing off one of his paintings that was going to be sold for 139 million dollars and the deal was all but down. He was showing it off to a reporter and turned around and put his elbow into the painting - ripping a hole in it. DOH!
