Vince Carter Fires Back At Phil Jackson

Source: TelegraphCarter has been making noise throughout his stellar career, but critics were pointing the finger at him last season, among them legendary LA Lakers coach Phil Jackson, as the Nets' season slipped by.
"I care nothing about Phil Jackson and what he says. He's entitled to his opinion. It means nothing, it's just a coach feeling that he can say what he wants to say, and that's fine. His opinion means nothing to me. Maybe it made him feel good saying it, but that's it.
"I've been in this league 10 years now, seen it all, been expected to do this, not expected to do that. But it's really about my team and what we need to do and it's about me focusing on what I need to do.
"I don't get into reading the papers and what people feel that they think I should do, that's just a matter of opinion. I sit down with the coaching staff and we talk about what they expect of me each and every year - and outside of that, it's just gibberish."

I don't know what PJ said but Carter is known not to give 100% when it gets tough.

People gonna bash Vince now because he speaks the truth? Why should he care what a coach across the country has to say about him? Everybody including PJ piled on the guy last season when he was clearly suffering with an ankle injury that needed surgery.. This reading makes me respect Vince more as a person...

At least Vince is not a pedophile/rapist. Phil needs to learn how to STFU, he disses everyone from Shaq to Odom. He just likes to hear himself speak I guess..

People bash Vince because he's an easy target. its human nature to pick on the weak, who won't get respected when they try to defend themselves. Phil Jackson knows that no matter how VC respnds nobody will respect VC's opinion.

If i remember correctly what Jackson stated was the Kidd had fire and Jefferson was playing great when nothing was more far from the truth .
Kidd clearly played without his heart and RJ played like a dick leaving everything but his scoring to be desired.

Phil Jackson is such a bitch. Its not even his player why does he have to comment bout him? Phil might be a legendary coach but he has no integrity or class.

Phil Jackson is an ass...he thinks he's all high and mighty picking on and criticizing Vince Carter because he knows he's an easy target. Well Phil I would just worry about your players and team because your coaching really sucked in the finals. Some Legend.

It's clearly because a reporter or someone asked him about it. It would seem kind've odd that Vince would respond now to comments made by Phil Jackson back in February. A reporter or someone must've asked him at the event he was at, so he responded.

Ya your right ... Vince just SUKS. Like he never had anything to do with Tmacs trade, or J.kidd, or the fact he isnt a superstar but a second option or even third.

For starter Phil has 9 rings as an NBA coach, he is a H.O.F coach that has led 2 teams to back to backs and threepeats so he can say what ever he wants.
If and when you or Vince Carter get one ring then maybe someone might give a hoot to what you have to say, so at this point you dont.
Also Phil spoke out about Shaq cause Shaq started to become a cancer, didnt want to workout didnt want to get in shape and became greedy, also look at all the garbage Shaq talked about the Laker, Kobe, Miami, and Pat Riley.'
As far as Odom, Phil only addressed his inconsitant game and his inability to perform at a higher level when he had to, SO WHAT?
Thats what coaches are suppose to do?

Vince Carter hate is so played out..we get it..the guy wasn't as great as he was expected to be..he's still a perennial all-star caliber player, which speaks volumes on what he was supposed to be..people just need to accept that he isn't THAT guy..he isn't a guy who wants it as bas as a Kobe or Jordan..he's still a guy that is completely misunderstood, he's still a great player, and he's still a great guy that deserves respect..
more importantly..why the **** does Phil Jackson keep getting a pass? just because of his rings? sure, he's a great coach..but the guy is arguably the biggest piece of **** to ever be involved in the game of basketball..the guy continuously calls players out, including IMPLYING THAT KOBE WAS A RAPIST..what kind of **** coach is allowed to write that in his book? it's disgusting..the **** this guy talks is unbelievable..he's an arrogant, smug, piece of ****..
he's the Shaq of coaching..just wait and see what happens if the Lakers don't win a title..he's gonna be talking more ****, and insulting Kobe after it has looked like they have patched things up the past few years..

Vince should have used the Patrick Roy comeback ... "I couldn't hear you, because I had my two championship rings stuck in my ears," but, well, the reason he couldn't use that, is the same reason he got beaked.

I love how nets fans are getting all pissy. Best part is when VC said "Ive been in the league 10 years, seen it all" Yeah, except holding up that trophy.
