Is the Cavs frontcourt rotation of Ilgauskas,Wallace,Varejao and Lorenzen Wright good enough to beat the elite teams? I dont think its good enough to get it done imo. Ilgauskas is really the only player that is actually a scoring threat and he's older and slower than ever and can't play more than 30 mins or so a game. When 2 out of the trio of Wallace/Varejao/Wright is out there the Cavs offense suffers because they aren't a threat to score. Anyone think they'll have to upgrade their frontcourt at some point if they want to compete with the Lakers,Celtics,Rockets,etc.

As long as they remain a tough, gritty, scrappy defensive + rebounding team in the playoffs they have a chance against anyone. If both teams struggle to score over 85 points then LeBron's ability to affect the game is even greater (unless he shoots 35%, but that's a different story).

Sure they can. They only lost by 5 in Boston's court with a new starter.

The Cavs big men rebound and defend extremely well. They're probably the best defensive frontline in the league.

Uhh their frontcourt has Lebron james, and one of the better center's in the east in Ilgauskus. Plus some decent rebounders/defeners in Varejo, and Wallace. Of couse it's enough to compete.

Yes... they have one thing that they have alot of or better said chingos of... they have rebounding. People underrate rebounding and it can forgive alot of shortcomings that you can have. Most of the games are going to be knockdown drag out games and with good rebounding you can get some gimmies from putbacks and you get stops on the other end of the court.

They are probably 3rd in the East. After Boston and Detroit. They line up is OK but nothing to drool about.

Their frontcourt is good enough, but they could use a scoring big men.

Cavs have such slow pace that Curry could actually play for them. As for the Knicks, well, they never have to watch that lazy fat ass in blue and orange again. And they get some money off the books.

they had basically the same frontcourt when they made the finals, so why can't they duplicate it this go around?

Common sense =Lebron James is part of their frontcourt. Which would answer the question, "Can the Cavs compete with that frouncourt?"

I disagree..I'd say Detroit definitely can, and Philly's athleticism could give them problems(more likely if they add a good shooter to their roster at some point)..

Cleveland's frontcourt is one of the better rebounding tandems in the NBA..they're always on the offensive glass, which is huge for a team with some backcourt weapons..the problem I have with people ranking Cleveland so high is that they overrate Mo Williams and Delonte West..these guys aren't game-changers..Lebron can definitely win with this lineup, but they'll need a big-time guy to make them a favorite..Sczerbiak might be able to bring that for them(his contract, obviously)..

Well they went to the Finals and took the eventual champs to 7 in a game that could've went either way. They have rebounding and defense which is more than enough IMO.

they'll have trouble scoring, but the defense + rebounding is there!

Compete? Certainly. Win it all? Doubt it.

They need an offensive post threat BADLY. As previously stated, the rebounding and defense is there but they resemble a perimeter team this year outside of LeBron. Z is there only threat in the box and if he's having an off day so are the Cavs.

I disagree with that. I think the Pistons can knock them off too. Dont sleep on them just yet.
