http://basketball.realgm.com/src_wireta ... _for_bird/Bird said at the start of last year's training camp that the Pacers hadn't had a leader since Reggie Miller.
"I understood he was talking about me when he made comments like that," O'Neal said. "There's not many players that would want to stay in a situation like that."
That's true. Nobody in their right mind, even a bad GM like Bird, would call O'Neal a leader during the last three seasons.

How the hell is he crying? He's not speaking out of his ass...clearly a media reporter/writer asked him questions regarding the situation and he's being straight about it.
Him and Larry never had a good relationship, or much at all. The end.

Not trying to be a smarta** but how has he been a pretty good leader in Toronto? When they traded for JO, I expected Toronto to be one of the top teams in the East however with a 9-12 record, not even in the playoffs if playoffs started today. I understand it may take some time to mesh so that could be a part of it.

Not trying to be a smarta** but you seem to have answered your own question.
We knew that it was a risk taking a player with a history of injuries and who is getting a bit past his prime. He's had struggles, tweaked his knee and sprained his ankle but he's also had some great games too. Mostly he's been a vocal leader, he's saying all the right things and does so in a well spoken and humble manner while being a tough guy on the court.
For whatever reason we haven't been winning but I can point to a dozen other factors that have hurt us besides any problem with JO.

JO ain't a very vocal leader. I don't really think he's a leader at all actually.
He's an okay guy to have when he's your 2nd or 3rd best player.
He leads by example more than by words.
