Kobe "The Best Player in the Planet"

First, this is not a Kobe vs Lebron/Wade/Paul/Howard ETC.

I am just wondering why is it that a lot of announcers and analysts feel the need to say "The bestplayer in the world/planet" everytime they mention his name.

I swear, everytime Eric Snow or Mark Jackson mention his name, they follow it up with the infamous phrase. Is it neccessary? Are Kobe supporters(even the ones on TV) so insecure they have to say it every chance they get?

I don't even know what the point of my own thread is, I just find it annoying and I don't even have anything against Kobe.

To me he's not the best player. Again, the media has a lot of influence to those who doesn't know the game.

I really don't care if he is or isn't the best, but why is it neccessary for them to push it down our throats every chance they get? It gets annoying.

that's just the media..Mark Jackson is a closet Lakers homer, it's apparent from his announcing the last few years..he uses Kobe's balls as mouth wash..
