It's also a good thing for the Warriors that Randolph said he has "pretty much been in the weight room every day." When the principal of Urban Promise Academy middle school introduced Randolph to students, he described him as a "6-foot-10, 210-pound forward."

Off to the side, Randolph quietly said to an observer: "Actually, 7-foot, 222 pounds."

He's a freak.

He grew 3 inches in the offseason?

He looked no taller than Jason Thompson at summer league, and Jason is no taller than 6'11".

The math would point to two inches, and I think it's more likely he's been growing all season. It's not like the league updates measurements every month, or that he conveniently times his growth spurts so as to avoid strain during the season.

Donte Greene is 6'11 and Anthony looks a lot taller than him in this pic, though...

Wasn't Garnett a legit 7'0 or was that Duncan? Would like to see him next to them.

All I know is during the regular season Randolph was a dwarf when he was standing next to Pau Gasol, who is a legit 7'0+ (215cm). Randolph looked no more than 6'9 or 6'10 at the time, and this is LATE in the season.

According to draft express Garnett was 6'11 as a rookie, and Duncan was 6'10 1/2.

Donte Green was measured 6' 8.25" tall, 221lbs, and 6'10 wingspan at the 2008 draft combine so his billed height is straight up WWF.

I was just joking. Only wanted to show a cool Randolph dunk on a Kings player :)

But the truth is, I pulled the 6'11 number off of the Kings website. So blame them for being lying a-holes.

It's slightly amusing to me how every time a player makes a claim, he's always taken at his word on this board. Seems like half the NBA is bulking up 15 pounds or growing a couple inches and spending 25 hours a day in the gym.

Reminds me of a situation we had on my team last year. Had Mario Boggan coming into camp who had said he was back to his college weight and out running on the track every day. Yet he gets off the plane, weighs about 30 pounds heavier than he described, and couldn't make it through the first week of two a days due to poor conditioning.

word. just because he says he's 7ft tall doesn't mean he's 7ft tall. heck in my ID it says I'm 6 ft tall and I'm 5'11'' max.

I don't care how tall you say you are when your head's practically touching the rim (which it is in that picture posted). That's good enough for me.

Considering how long he is in general, I'd be way more concerned about his weight than height, if I was a Warriors fan. His wingspan is huge, which more than makes up for the 'lack' of being a 7-footer.

With all the hype this kid has gotten over the summer, I fear people will be disappointed even he has a decent year. When you factor in his age, rookie numbers and overall experience, 12/8 in about 25 minutes would actually be quite decent. But should he have such a statline, I could imagine people would be on his butt due to the inflated summer expectations.

I don't care what his legit height is. This guy is easily the best prospect in the NBA. I have not shut up about him since before his rookie season. I think he is already one of the top 15 players in the NBA...maybe top 10. I would take him straight up in trade for Rose this minute. The only player in the league with more all around talent in every area is Lebron. This guy will stuff stats better than Marion in his prime. I know it's a bold statement but I think this guy has HOF written all over him and I'm not afraid to say it.

Some other dude on this board went off about him last season and literally 50 people were laughing at him and mocked him for 10-15 pages. Don't read what others say...watch. I've always liked to step up and make bold predictions because I'm not a coward like most posters.

If anyone knows of a place that I can make online bets about his stats for the season, I'd appreciate a link so I can take the over.

Whether he is 6' 9' or 7'2" we will witness the birth of a superstar this season.
