What was Bob Rule's game like?
Offensively, defensively, etc.
"Coach, why don't you just relax? We're not good enough to beat the Lakers. We've had a great year, why don't you just relax and cool down?"

Long, not particularly fluid, not great lower body strength, decent post moves, not a great defender from what I remember.

Re: What was Bob Rule's game like?
Probably had the second best lefty hook shot that I've ever seen. While he certainly had other low post moves, he scored on many of those because defenses had to worry so much about the hook shot. Was also very good at running the floor before his injury. Struck me as never being particularly interested in playing defense or rebounding (although he was decent on the offensive glass; anything to score more points!). Was never the same after his Achilles injury in 72 and was out of the league by 75. Pretty sure his career could have benefited with modern medicine.

I haven't seem him that much unfortunately, he seemed to have a decent shootinf touch and nice post repertoire. Not a great defender and not physical, but moved quite well for his size.

Funny enough, in the only full Rule game that I found, his hook shot got erased by Nate Thurmond with authority

Well, Nate can do that to anyone! But of course, Curry's had a number of 3-point shots blocked but it doesn't change the fact that he's still the greatest 3-point shooter ever. Rule's lefty hook was about as good a bet for 2 points as anyone's; as I've said, only Bob Lanier had a better lefty hook that I've seen.
