Including playoffs probably a bunch

For regular season not that many would be my guess

Robinson is legitemely in the goat tier lf regulsr season dominance but drops 1-2 notches in playoffs

94 DRob, 29.4 pp75 at +4.9 rTS%.

Jordan from 88-91

32.7 6.5%
30 7.7%
32 6.9%
32 7.1%

All better scoring seasons

Lebron from 09-14

30.6 4.7%
30 6.1%
27.3 5.3%
28.6 7.8%
28.1 10.5%
28.4 10.8%

All arguably better scoring seasons, except perhaps 2011.

Not looking at defense, because it becomes a centre’s D vs the wings creation ability and that’s another rabbit hole. It’s easier to just compare scoring since they played different positions and were all very good defenders.

Regular Season Specific
2009, 2010, and 2013 Lebron do not require a second thought. Could be talked into a couple of others. 2016 has a better case than often credited; by now people recognise his defence in the postseason, but he should have been on an all-defensive team for his regular season efforts too.

Jordan… alright, look, Robinson carried a weak roster to 5-SRS; Jordan did not hit that mark until 1991, and the reason for that jump is not because Jordan suddenly improved. 1988 has a decent case, as that was his defensive peak. 1989-91 and 1996 would be the other years you could argue reasonably well. The latter two had more consistent effort than the prior two, but some of that is schematic (the point guard experiment in 1989) and does not necessarily point to decreases in overall regular season value (e.g. 2006/07 Kobe versus 2008/09/10 Kobe).

Low-end, 3 for Lebron and 1 for Jordan; high-end, maybe around 5 for each.

In terms of strictly value added to their teams.

MJ-88

LBJ-09

The only years I feel outright confident in off the top of my head.

How do you determine “value added”?

1994 DRob I would love to have over many players but let's be real not taking him over someone that won as the man for the franchise that drafted them considering he lost with HCA to an inferior player.

It's hard to explain my definition but it basically importance to one's respective team. It has nothing to do with how I believe their skillset does with other teams but rather what teams lose the most in overall team strength without this one player.

how about lbj's 2015? Playoff "value added" might even top 09 depending on what you use

edit: just saw it's rs only.
Though in that case, doesn't 2010 go hand in hand with 2009

I think 2010 has a strong argument and I would probably have it over D-Rob. I just wanted to be careful and therefore named the years that did not make me hesitate.

None.

Neither Jordan nor Lebron at their best were competing against anyone as great as 93-94 Hakeem/Shaq like Robinson either h2h or for all NBA team selection accolades.

Imagine anyone either LBJ or MJ faced h2h their entire careers in their 2nd seasons as great as 93-94 Shaq in his 2nd season.

Oh yeah....you can't.
