Iverson has a time machine to get all of his best teammates he played in Philly in their peaks to play against 2001 Lakers. Will he succeed?

Re: 2001 NBA finals runback
Anyone CAN win. Even with the original matchup, Shaq and/or Kobe could be injured, Iverson could get hot and shoot .500 from the field instead of .400, it's always possible. If you are asking whether this Philly team should be favored against the 00-01 Lakers that's a different question.
That team has enough scoring, passing, and defense to win if Iverson chooses to be a playmaker rather than go 1 on 5 forays into the paint but if we get the real AI who had to do it his way, I don't think it would happen. Iverson just shot too much and made too few and Korver won't get the ball in his spots consistently, Webber won't be maximized standing around waiting for a kick out pass, and the bench is still unimpressive. (Also, not sure who Kenny Rodgers is or who plays point off the bench.)

All at their peaks? That's a starting roster of 5 all-stars. I'm not seeing the Lakers win here.

If watching in real time, Mckie was hurt as well as George Lynch. Adding Igg and Webber changes the balance.

They had a grueling run just to get to the finals. The only team in my mind that had an equally grueling run and won a title is the 88 Lakers.

Re: 2001 NBA finals runback
I still struggle to believe the Sixers could win that.
Webber wasn't a good scorer and not a good defender either. The extra shooting wouldn't help Philly. They don't suddenly find the ability to defend Shaq. Mutombo was already still DPOY that year. They'd get crushed all over again. LA beat better teams that than listed Philly roster for all three of their titles, just in the WC before they hit the Finals.

How was Webber not a good scorer? You see 2002?

You mean his 24.5 ppg season in 38.4 mpg over 54 games? Yeah, it was okay. He was a +2% rTS guy, nothing special, and in a shortened sample size no less. He was typically below league average in efficiency and played a lot of minutes, which helped inflate volume.

They wouldn't have a grueling road with that team.

At their peaks Philly wins. If Philly versions they still lose.
