If Shaq passed Wilt on career points....

Would you consider Shaq more dominant than Wilt?

He said he would consider himself more dominant then Wilt if he passed him on career points on Logan Paul's podcast.
Said it during a MJ vs Lebron debate.

It wouldn't change anything to me.

Shaq is great but his concepts of greatness in basketball is the most casual possible. He only looks at MVPs, rings and points scored.

It wouldn’t have made him the most dominant player ever.

As it would have taken Shaq basically 20 seasons to pass what Wilt achieved in 12.5 seasons.

Furthermore had Wilt so desired to keep scoring for the last seven years of his career he would have left Shaq and everyone including Kareem in the dust.

As at age 33 when he was asked to become a scorer again.

he was averaging over 32ppg before his knee injury.
Reggie Jackson is amazing and a killer in the clutch that's all.

It's a really simplisitc/stupid angle.

It's silly and not really worth a response, if he didn't know not all points were created equal, he'd think Karl Malone was clearly better than him, and I suspect he doesn't. He doesn't think about what he says and doesn't care about accuracy or consistency and isn't paid to. If you're listening to him you should know what you're getting. He thought he had more blocks than Mutombo.

Still to illustrate.
If Shaq were to add near perfect prime health and play 82 games (or 50 that 1 season, though that one doesn't really make a difference) playing 37.5 minutes and scoring at 27.2 per 36mins in the games he actually missed from 95-96 to 03-04, I figure he'd add 3910 points (for 32506 RS total and be ahead of Wilt in that regard). He'd secure better seeds and presumably be healthier, in better shape, more consistently agile.
This would add substantial value.

He could add three seasons identical to his 08-09 Suns season to his career. This would add an even better 3999 points to his career. Yet I would suggest it would not, in fact. add substantial value to his career.
