Team Offense: 2006 vs 2022

Post#1 » by rand » Sat Oct 15, 2022 1:52 pm

Who would win a best of 7 with today's rules refs with both teams having modern coaches?

Team Offense 2006
Steve Nash
Ray Allen
Vince Carter
LeBron James
Dirk Nowitzki

Team Offense 2022
Steph Curry
Devin Booker
Luka Doncic
LeBron James
Nikola Jokic

Disclaimer: it is possible to make better offenses from these seasons, these teams were constructed to emphasize offense at the expense of defense

Team 2022 is more talented, but 2006 team has a better fit. I mean, how can you run your offense with Doncic, James and Jokic on the same team? Nash and James would coexist better than that to me.

You could do so much better than the teams you created.

2006
Nash
Kobe
LeBron
Dirk
Yao

2022
Curry
Booker
KD
Giannis
Jokic

Regardless of who you put for '06, I think 2022 is better.

I don’t think it’s neccessarily a bad fit, in the sense that none of them limit what the others do when they’re off ball because none of them are left open from three even if luka and maybe jokic’s percentages aren’t too great

It’s not a great fit of course, I think luka and 2022 bron aren’t as good against bigs on switches than you’d want for a p and r partner with Jokic, but I’d probably go with the talent
