Draymond Green vs Ben Simmons

Post#1 » by Hoppy1 » Wed Nov 16, 2022 6:05 pm

Find it interesting their stats this year.
Green 7.9 pts 6.5 reb 6.6 assi
Simmons 5.8 pts 6.1 reb 5.6 assi

Not terribly different but one is about to bounced out of the league and 1 is looking for a huge payday.
When you look for the bad in something, expecting to find it, you certainly will.

All in all, I think the impact of the players are completely different.

Offensively, Ben Simmons needs the ball in his hands in order to do the things he does. If both Irving and Durant are playing, it pretty much means he's useless on offense.

Defensively, it's different because Green directs traffic on defense. He literally makes his teammates better on that end. While I don't watch Simmons play, I don't think he does it, at least on Green's level.

In the right system, Ben Simmons > Green, 100%. In Brooklyn, that's not the case at all.

I take Green, Ben has too many hypotheticals. Green does as well but I’m more sure of what I’m getting with him.

I question if you've watched a single Warriors game this season if you're making this topic as if there's a serious comparison to be made between the quality of the two players.

Simmonas is in bad position with Nets today. He must be prime ball handler to be efective and its hard to do it with Irving/KD.

Before Simmons went to the Nets, everyone thought Nets would be the dream fit for him. Where would be a good fit for him where he isn’t expected to score and is the primary ball handler? I can’t think of a single team that would fit him.

Until Ben is on a team with Buddy Hield, Mikal Bridges, O.G. Anunoby, and Myles Turner, we cannot fairly assess him.

It's a catch-22 though because he isn't good enough as a ball handler to be a teams lead ball-handler.

Maybe he could work on the Knicks in place of Randle.
