Better Defensive Team: All Help Defensive Team or All Man Defensive Team

Strictly defense, offense not included.

All Help Defensive Team

PG: Jason Kidd
SG: Michael Jordan
SF: Scottie Pippen
PF: KG or Draymond whichever you choose
C: Hakeem Olajuwon

All Man Defensive Team

PG: Gary Payton
SG: Tony Allen
SF: Ron Artest
PF: Dennis Rodman or Duncan whichever you choose.
C: Bill Russell

All Help is better because even the best on-ball defenders can't shut down the best.

Bill Russell is the ultimate help defender, I really don't understand how you can put him into man defense team. For man defense, then choice is one and clear - Nate Thurmond.

I don’t think help defense is necessarily more important than man defense although a good help defender is more impactful in a lineup than a good man defender over 82 games, maybe not in specific series though. There’s also a synergy boost when you have 5 switchy defenders I frel

But ur help defenders are good man defenders too lol

Agree about Russell and Thurmond; Duncan is one of the GOAT help defender PFs too with his shotblocking. He's not the best man defender out on the floor, though as a post defender he's pretty good.

I would also suggest Bobby Jones and peak Andrei Kirilenko as arguably the best help defenders at forward with both great defensive reps and excellent numbers in both steals and blocks. Maybe Wade for SG; Kidd is a good choice though.

Tough to say without knowing who they are matched up against. Are they going up against a perimeter shooting juggernaut, or a showtime lakers type of team?
