Which current team would you say improves the most with Peak Ginobili?

Denver becomes a dynasty if you add Manu. He was everything they need. An outstanding two-way guard with a complete skill set and ATG intangibles including BBIQ, clutch, selfless and tough. Absolute perfect fit.

Sad for me but it took half Manu's career for me to start to understand how great he was. I always felt he was underrated but I didn't realize he was really a 1st Team All-NBA level player who simply couldn't output the volume of minutes that most NBA stars can. Manu was top-3 in RAPM in six different seasons.

as mentioned Nuggets, but I think also the recently regressed world-beaters Bucks and Warriors would find new life with 妖刀 "The Demon Blade" and probably win a title in a convincing fashion. I think Manu on a bad team would be wasted.

Denver to me, it would turn them into clear title favorites.

Nuggets make a lot of sense to me. Even the 25, 30 mpg he could provide would be EPIC for them in terms of elevating their guard play

Phoenix. They just needed a bit more to go over the top and he provides more than that.

I presume you mean before this season? And how would he interact alongside Booker? You planning on Manu as 6th Man?

Especially playing with some bench units, which are absolutely horrible. Imagine Jokic having a guy, who could make bench relevant instead of a team that always collapsed without him on the floor.

It would be really, really nice, yes. Especially somewhat-later-on Manu, who had that veteran presence but could still give you 30 a night. And he would certainly feast on bench lineups, or force the opposition to stagger their usual rotation.

He'd help every contender. I'd love to have a Prime Manu as sixth man for the Bucks.

Denver and Dallas are great choices already mentioned. He'd fit in flawlessly next to Jokic and he'd be a great 2nd banana to Luka. With his versatile and valuable skill-set and team-first mentality, he'd pretty much fit in flawlessly on any team in the league.

But I wanted to pick a weaker team where he would be the best player so I'll go with the Knicks. Brunson/Manu/Barrett/Randle/Robinson is a team that wouldn't necessarily even be a true title contender, but they go from ~44 win team to a legit 52+ win type squad capable of beating anyone in a playoff series. I don't think they could beat a gauntlet of 2-3 of these elite teams in the playoffs, but they could steal a series off of anyone imo. A Celtics series vs. the current Knicks w/ Manu would be a 6/7 game fist fight. Brunson/Manu would also be a very fun to watch backcourt.

Edit: He'd also be a very very good fit on the Kings. Sabonis/Manu/Fox as building blocks would be fun to see play out.

Lakers. They are so lacking in depth and he brings a lot of what they need.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Denver has the 25th-ranked defense. They're not winning any championships by adding Manu.

The answer is pretty clearly the Bucks. The Bucks have the #1 defense but the 24th ranked offense. With Middleton being out, Manu might give them enough juice on offense.

I'd go with Miami or Philly.

Miami has the #7 defense with a bad offense. Manu solves that problem of lacking creativity in a big way. Bam/Jimmy/Manu/Lowry is a beastly core four on both ends of the floor.

Philly has the #4 defense in the league but an average offense. Manu would ante up the offense and still fits well with the offensive stars on the team.

I doubt they will finish the season with such a bad defense, they are getting better recently.

Thread is about "current" teams, man, not teams from a decade and a half in the past.

Manu's game fits just everywhere. He can play on ball, off ball, spotting up, cutting, POA defense, nail defense, some rim protection... and no issue to even come off the bench. literally every team would make significant steps.
I agree the Bucks need more creation, NOP I think would be interesting as well. Luka needs extra help, but the synergy is less obvious to me.
