Replace KG w/ Giannis on the Wolves from 2000-06’. How far do they get each year?

2001 Wolves-’18 Giannis
2002 Wolves-’19 Giannis
2003 Wolves-’20 Giannis
2004 Wolves-’21 Giannis
2005 Wolves-’22 Giannis

Probably about the same. Both guys were MVP tier players over that span.

Minny generally had very little talent around KG, aside from 2004 when they were crushed by injuries in the playoffs. Giannis against the world only goes so far, and that's probably a 1st round loss most of the time.

Same or possibly a little worse. Giannis is not quite as durable or proven to be capable of consistent high MPG load as KG was in that span. Hard to really compare directly due to era, but I still feel like he's not quite capable of carrying quite as much of a load as KG did. I also think the rules and lack of spacing on that team would probably hurt his offensive ceiling significantly.

The main difference would be Giannis' Wolves could get better regular season wins to face weaker opponents. Giannis could also provide needed scoring in the 05/06 seasons but you have to assume he did not load manage.

2000 Wolves-’17 Giannis - no playoffs
2001 Wolves-’18 Giannis - 1st round exit
2002 Wolves-’19 Giannis - 2nd round
2003 Wolves-’20 Giannis - 2nd round
2004 Wolves-’21 Giannis - WCF assuming similar injury to the team
2005 Wolves-’22 Giannis - 2nd round
2006 Wolves-’23 Giannis - 1st round
