My question is - Are player of the year and offensive player of the year the same award?

I was alone on this but I felt like putting joker on the offensive player list was redundant after putting him on the overall best list.

So I'm wondering does the same player always take both awards?

No.

Jokic has been OPOY for the past 3 seasons but Giannis was POY in 2021.

Harden was OPOY in 2019, Kawhi POY.

Curry was OPOY from 2015-2017 but LeBron was POY in 2016 and 2017.

It's redundant to credit the best offensive player in the world with by far the best offensive season for being/doing such? What? There are tons of examples of seasons where the best player in the NBA not also the best offensive player.
