I’m not sure we can really say “the best of Lebron is just levels above the best of Wade.” The best of Wade was the clear #1 option on a championship team that wasn’t even taken to a game 7, putting in a pretty legendary finals performance in the process. And, for what it’s worth, he was also one of the few players in history to notch a 30+ PER for a season. I don’t really think anyone can be said to be “levels above the best of Wade.”

I think Lebron at his best was at least one level above Wade. I could agree that saying multiple levels higher might be over stating the difference. There's a gray area there in terms of how you evaluate each and how much of a gap is actually part of a level. I think it becomes more like levels with an s when you compare top 3-4 seasons.

The gap between Lebron and Wade as players is enormous mate. Unless you are going to for some reason made Wade's new extended prime equal to his peak for some reason. Even then, peak Lebron is just way better than Wade.

Larry Bird to me feels like an interesting place to start.

If bron basically stopped being a top level guy in 2013, and had injury issues in those playoffs, in 07, and 08, and Wade basically doesn’t get hurt throughout his career and plays at a prime level until now, you gotta take Wade I think, injuries derailed his career in the first place, and ur kind of taking that out of the equation too.

I can't give Wade credit for a level of play I never saw though, right? I understand how this helps him and hurts Lebron obviously. :D

But the best of Lebron is just levels above the best of Wade. I'm not sure I wouldn't take 6 or 7 Lebron years over 15 Wade ones.

I wouldn’t either, but ur not really getting 6/7 good bron years

Wade would clear bron for the first few years of their career, 04-08, especially because bron in 07 and 08 gets hurt and only plays about 50 games each year and is now hobbled in the playoffs

So it would be 09-13 Lebron vs 09-23 Wade essentially, but in 2011 obviously not a particularly successful season, 2012 he barely plays half the season and deals with injury in the playoffs, 2013 instead of it being his peak he would have started to decline with injuries then and was again hurt in the postseason

So 09, 10 (if you assume it’s cuz of his elbow injury, 11, and injury plagued 2012 and 2013 as a top tier guy vs 15 years of Wade

Peak bron was absolutely levels above Wade though lol idk what people be smoking

A lot of people here wouldn’t put peak Wade above Curry and peak bron obvious is a different tier from him for example
