Yeah, I think we all agree who was better in 2001 season and it's not a player with BPM of 5 or higher...

I used three different cutoffs. Why are you nitpicking the seasons on one of the cutoffs? The point is that they’re much closer to having the same number of prime seasons than Kobe having twice as many whether it’s 11-10 or 11-13 or 12-14 or whatever. Would you dispute that general point?

No one’s saying Robinson was actually better than Kobe in 2001. I just went to bb-ref and sorted regular seasons. I didn’t even look at playoff numbers or which individual year was which for that matter.

Twice the number of prime seasons? What are you even talking about? David Robinson had 11 seasons with a BPM of 5 or higher. Kobe had 9. If you expand it to season with a BPM of 4 or higher, D-Rob still has 11 and Kobe has 13. Make the qualification a BPM of 3 and it’s 12 for D-Rob and 14 for Kobe. No matter how you slice it they have a very similar number of prime seasons.

Robinsons prime seasons were better than Kobe's, by a considerable margin most. That makes any longevity difference fairly less significant

Robinson had 8 years as a focal star if you don't count his 6-game season. And yes, Kobe had around 9. That would lead to Kobe having a slightly longer prime...

Yeah, twice the amount of prime seasons is a garbage take. Robinson's prime was like 1990-99 tops, which gives us 9 seasons with the exclusion of 1997 (he also adds 2 relevant seasons in 2000 and 2001). Kobe's prime is closer to 10-14 seasons, depending on your criteria (2001-10 for stricter criteria, 2000-13 for looser).
