This is a very interesting list

It was the logical extension of my criteria for players. Discernible impact (with more granular signals playing a bigger part), longevity (as an all-NBA/weak MVP player), and modernism.
Now that's the difference between first and last place.

Do you feel Bill Russell would be a dominant player today?

More likely than not, yes.

1. LeBron James
2. Michael Jordan
3. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

4. Tim Duncan
5. Bill Russell

6. Hakeem Olajuwon
7. Wilt Chamberlain
8. Magic Johnson
9. Shaquille O'Neal

10. Larry Bird
(Oscar, West, Kobe, KG, Curry maybe in the same tier as Bird)

The players within the different tiers are sort of interchangeable.

Thinking it through a bit.

1. MJ - pretty much the GOAT, looking through all his stuff.
2. LeBron - the almost GOAT, with 10 finals runs to his name.
3. Russell - My foremost villainous winner.
4. Kareem - Some kind of longevity God.
5. Dirk - This is where I tickle my creative side. How good was he?
6. KG - A +/- God of sorts.
7. Hakeem - Dream shake a bit.
8. Duncan - The Spurs GOAT. Deservedly so.
9. Kobe - A little more popular on other boards I take it. Polarizing guy here.
10. Wilt - A 60's Dominant big cult figure.

Russell
James
Jordan
Chamberlain
Abdul-Jabar

This is the order I am comfortable with. Chamberlain vs Abdul-Jabar is what I would take another look at.

O'Neal
KG
Duncan
Olajuwon

^ Not sure about the order for these 4 this time around (it's not in order fyi), wasn't around in the project at the time to think it out. Last time I ranked them it was O'Neal>Olajuwon>Garnett>Duncan but it would be different now.

10th spot is

Robertson or West. Not sure who I like more.

Joker is already up there for me. Not sure if I'd put him over the 60s guards but I like him over anyone else. Longevity has diminishing returns for me.

Mind elaborating? Not sure if I can get there myself, but Dirk is 4 spots higher than 5 in my heart of hearts :D

It's not any more out there than putting Kobe at 5.

Way to come in here and derail once again :noway:

As highly as I regard Dirk or Kobe, I personally don’t rate them 5th or so all time not could I see them being too close to such.

Back to where I was, WHO?? mentioned Kobe here aside from the OP (amongst others) having him in their T-10 list. As I’ve said before, there’s a vast difference between disagreement and this nonsense; many posters on here whom I have always enjoyed interacting with are lower on Kobe, but none go even a fraction of the distance to obsessively bring him up and denigrate him.
