You can pick one on a 5 years contract. Who are you taking?

It is close, but one could be a major defensive liability come playoffs and the other put up Wade like numbers.

Haliburton has the playmaking & shooting Ant needs to take that next step and Ant has the size and defense (at least on the ball) that would massively help Haliburton. Hmmm... idk. My gut says Ant since we haven't seen Haliburton in the playoffs so imma go him.

Anyone who chooses Haliburton needs immediate psychological evaluation.

I don't think you know how good Haliburton is. You're probably one of those guys who said Ball was better because it looks like he's in school when he plays or something.

I know exactly how good he is, he just gave my team 43 and looked like he could barely miss a shot. By the way, LaMelo, despite being 2 years younger, was clearly better both of their first two seasons, both by acclaim (ROTY/all-star) and team success (Haliburton has yet to make a play-in game), so I’m not sure this is some sort of own. Ball is really good too!

Haliburton has now surpassed LaMelo of course and found a great fit with Carlisle and is surrounded by a great team around him. But his defense is still a liability and Edwards has him clearly beat there.

Edwards is going to elevate into a top 5 player very shortly. Haliburton is great, I mean really great, but he isn’t Ant.

I think Haliburton is a notably better offensive player over the course of 48 minutes, although I do believe Edwards makes for a better closer most of the time. Defense is what makes this comparison tough, though. Edwards is a solid defender who at times can be genuinely great. Haliburton is clearly below average. In the playoffs, you can hunt Haliburton but not Edwards. That matters.

I'd say a lot depends on the team you have built or are able to build. Both players are awesome. I trust Haliburton a bit more in more contexts, I think, so that's might be what puts him over the top for me. Neither is fully proven in the playoffs yet but I can also understand why someone would take Edwards based on his positive track record in the playoffs (in a limited sample, however).
