GOAT 1v1 Player Round 2 (Forwards)

Post#1 » by EasternHeretic » Fri Jan 19, 2024 12:11 am

Top 5 from the SF and PF polls moved on. Where there's a tie the player with more comments gets picked.

I'm taking KG here. The best defender in my opinion, whether it's against the wings or the bigger forwards, and offensively has just enough I think to get it done.

I think I go Durant again, the 3 point shooting gives him too big an advantage in a game where there are no team schemes. I do think a number of the other players could give him a run for it though.

Are they playing limited dribbles or on a shot clock?

Unless OP says so, I would assume normal US basketball rules including a 3 point line, referee, and 24 second clock. Again, the NBA did this once and they didn't have any limited dribble rules.

Just popped in my head but I think prime Blake Griffin would give a lot of these guys a run for their money, so would Sheed. Just want to show them love.

7 or 10-shot clock is more common in 1-on-1

Can see a fast shot clock being interesting, far more than a limited dribble.

WIsh any of those had showed an actual contest rather than highlights. Can't see the clock or how people might play differently, just a lot of open layups and dunks.

Giannis?

I'd be comfortable sagging off Giannis and let him take a jumpshot.

Kawhi and Durant are absurdly efficient shooters which are very effective in 1v1 situations.

Sheed by a hair. Better defender.

And as for this poll, it's KD all day, everyone else is playing for second place.
