Where would Steve Francis & Cuttino Mobley rank among today's backcourts
Watching some old highlights got me remembering how much of a fan I was of those two together. Seems like they were always throwing lobs to each other.

As they were or with modern training and coaching? They both had 3 point ability (Francis wasn't very efficient at it) which presumably could be developed much more in a modern offense.

Horrific. Brick city. 2 very overrated players based on lobs and the occasional big dunk

Numbers don't bear you out. For their career, both are positive efficiency. Not Adrian Dantley, Steph Curry type but above average TS Add (Mobley actually a little higher despite their reps).
Francis known for his athleticism, Mobley less likely to go off but more consistent outside shooter, neither a great player but horrific is an overstatement.

I guess the question becomes more about if they could adapt to contemporary style. Francis iso'd a lot, though that was of course the strategy of the time. He wasn't a startlingly insightful or textured player, but he was quite athletic. Bit mediocre from 3 outside of his second season, and pretty turnover-prone. Hit or miss from an efficiency standpoint, even if you filter for health, and he did not age well. Not particularly remarkable as a shot maker, decent but unimpressive at the line.
"Horrific" is probably an understatement; I'm sure the tempo and spacing would help Francis look better, and Mobley was never meant to be a star player, just a solid supporting cast guy. He was like a 16 ppg catch and shoot dude, and was definitely a solid shooter. Not particularly diverse, but he filled his role well enough.
Francis enjoyed more popularity than his actual impact deserved because he was exciting, of course. They definitely wouldn't be an elite backcourt pair, but depending on how well Francis responded to the contemporary environment, they might be decent.

Below Dame and McCollom but something about their situation reminds me of Dame and McCollom.

I was thinking Cade Cunningham and Jaden Ivey but that's a bit unfair to Francis and Mobley.
