Any team with Lebron and AD really should be seeing a floor of 50 wins. Broken record but Westbrook and his contract really lived up to all the awful ways everyone said it would suck.

If AD plays like he has either of the last two years then I disagree, even if he plays 65-70 games. He probably wasn't even a top 30 player last year. Unless he suddenly regains his 2017-2020 form then nothing the team/franchise does really matters.

Not when Davis and Lebron miss so many games. Who knows about this year, but last year was horrible due MOSTLY to injuries to their two best players. The Westbrook trade was f&^%ing dumb on many levels, too. There are a lot of reasons last year was a disaster for the Lakers. IF, and it seems like a rather big if, Lebron and especially Davis can stay healthy, Westbrook remembers how to shoot and not play like an idiot, they should be pretty good. But, I'm not holding my breath.

The fact Pelinka can’t build a playoff team with Anthony Davis and LeBron James on his team says everything about his GM abilities.

I think Pelinka is a grade A moron as much as the next guy, but last year it was obviously mostly due to injuries.

I think Pelinka is a grade A moron as much as the next guy, but last year it was obviously mostly due to injuries.

The team sucked at the beginning of the year even with both LeBron and AD healthy. The injuries certainly didn’t help but it was clear basically immediately that they just weren’t a very good team.

Where I’m at regarding Lakers offseason

• Hoping Dlo opts in (depends on the Magic, I guess) and can be traded in a one year. As for destinations, hoping Brooklyn (netting DFS / Sharpe / Whitehead, any 2 here) or TOR for Bruce Brown.
• If the 17th pick is kept, I’d love DaRon Holmes (Dayton) or Devin Carter (Providence). In this draft, there’s no young player at that point with a ceiling worth investing in. Therefore, I think it makes sense to get the best combination of fit + floor/readiness. Plus we all saw the JHS selection, which could have been used for a legit bench piece.
• If they’re available at 55, I’d love Cam Spencer or Mark Sears (worth trading up for too, imo)
• See what JHS, Rui, Gabe, a 2029 FRP could net (some combination of these assets, could be included in a Dlo trade imo)
• CP3 on a vet min (if he opts out), RoCo too, would be great imo
• Use the MLE on a backup big-man, I’d like Goga Bitadze or Jalen Smith for example. Other MLE candidates are Kris Dunn or D. Melton imo
• Bronny as a UDFA would be cool too I guess, I’m unsure if he’s a draftable prospect atp.
• Non Mitchell trade candidates I’d be really excited for are Mikal, Sexton, or Alex Caruso. I’m not getting my hopes up on a Lauri deal at all, it’s not happening.

Mikal isn't happening. No way the Nets' asking price (more than 4 1sts given they turned that down from MEM) goes down this offseason. They're going to either want a bigger offer than that or will bank on Mikal playing better next year before considering moving him.
