Giving Offense: McAdoo or A'mare (5 year prime)

Post#1 » by penbeast0 » Mon May 27, 2024 7:24 pm

Who was the better offensive player over their 5 best years relative to the league they played in, Bob McAdoo or A'mare Stoudamire?

Not interested in analysis that says, "well, of course the modern player was better because he wasn't playing against plumbers and firemen." Other than that, take your best shot (neither of those players had to be told that twice).

I think you have to give this to McAdoo. Amare was quite good at playing the PnR and developed a nasty jumper, but he was considerably worse without Nash than with, and this wouldn't even be a conversation without those years. McAdoo managed 3 straight scoring titles (which is not a common feat in league history), and was an extremely skillful scorer.
