Which duo would you rather build around in todays league?

LeBron and Horford. They were better earlier and have more synergy in their skill-sets while LeBron is simply the best player here.

I actually don't know here, it's a tough call. I thought it'd be LeBron/Horford based on durability but it turns out Al himself didn't have an easy go of it with injuries early in his career.
LeBron is the best player for sure, yes, but Horford missed 80% of the season in year 5 of his career and 65% in year 7. After that you have prime LeBron for almost a decade with a very solid running mate.
With AD and Steph you probably need to wait until year 4 of both their careers but then you likely have them rip off a 5 or so year stretch with 2013-17 Curry and 2016-20 AD where you likely win at least two titles. After that, they sort of take turns being injured so it's hard to say how it goes.
I think I'd take LeBron just on the safer side because I know I have 15 years of uninterrupted brilliance from 2006-20 and we could potentially add more pieces after Horford. But Curry/AD likely peak higher and guarantee you a couple titles for sure, so it's close.
