looks like Denvers on/off splits have followed him to Serbia

Denver is screwed if they give Murray the max. He has looked utterly awful in international play...and this playing as a 3rd or 4th option against non-NBA talents. With the albatross of MPJ's contract and the looming albatross of Murray's, I'm increasingly worried that Jokic is just gonna be stuck in a bad situation for the rest of his prime.

Jokic could ask out if this year doesn't go well

Its a team game. Gordon was basically the only non-Jokic Nugget who was above average these playoffs

Buddy, we don’t care. He LOST in the second round. Get over it, all these excuses

Speak for yourself dude. Some of us still understand that team games are about teams, not about who the best player on the floor is.

I think the issue with Murray isn't so much what he is now or in a year but that his health will likely just decline and he's not someone you can depend on being able to help carry much in the rs so Jokic is left trying to get his team to 50+ wins every year almost by himself and that is not going to make him happy the rest of his career. He's in a similar place that Miami LeBron was in. Agree though that Murray just has too many red flag check marks that you don't want from a guy that gets a max contract. I think Jokic will need to leave Denver to win another ring though everything could go just right but its gonna be way harder than it was in 2023 for them from here on out.

I don't see Jokic leaving the Nuggets...loyalty seems to be a big thing for him. But yeah, Calvin Booth needs to look at this long and hard. Not a coincidence that he's waiting for the Olympics to end before resuming contract discussions. At this point, what other team would offer him anything close to the max? I'm guessing none.

Jokic should have had Olympic gold if it wasn't for that refs robbery in the semis. After I re watched the game yesterday. I found that Serbia should have hade 16 more free throw attempts in the game. Serbian players where fouled out on their shot attempts or they didn't get and ones. Jokic was fouled once while he was making the two point shot and he was fouled on his three point attempt, both times by Adebayo. Bogdanovic was fouled twice on his two point shot attempts which weren't called one time by Embiid and one time by Holiday and one time he didn't get an extra free throw when he was fouled by Embiid during the two point make as well. Dobric was fouled on his three point make once by Booker and he didn't get an extra free throw and he was fouled by Embiid on his drive to the basket, clear hand slap which was called as the block shot by Embiid . Milutinov was fouled on the basket made by White he didn't get the extra free throw. Petrusev was fouled by Lebron during his two points shot attempt, which it wasn't called. On the USA team Curry was fouled on the three point shot attempt once and Booker on the two point shot attempt once. 16-4 in favor of Serbia, free throws that should have been called by refs , in the game where the final score was 95-91. All obvious fouls right in front of the refs. Also USA was benefactor of a few more very important calls late in the 4th quarter . The clear travel by Embiid on his dunk which wasn't called, Serbian coach was protesting and he got the technical , that one was in the first quarter . Durant was also stepping on the sideline when he received the ball for the very important two point shot that he made in the 4th quarter. Embiid also set illegal pick on Dobric for that late Curry's dagger three point shot in the last quarter, it should have been offensive foul on Embiid. All those calls were momentum killers for the Serbian team By the way Embiid should have been out of the game way earlier before that play. They officially gave him three personal fouls, in reality he committed ten fouls fouls in the game. In one situation he hit Milutinov with his fist in the face then he scored the ball and got extra free throw, he fouled Bogdanovic twice, Dobric twice and Jokic twice. They didn't call any of those clear fouls on him. Just a pathetic display of referring, USA just had to win, whatever it took to push them over. One of the worst referring jobs in the international game, certainly worst ever at the Olympic games. Bosnian ref and especially one from Panama were on the mission. How could they select refs from the basketball third world country's, for a such big game

There is nothing funny about it if you are a true basketball fan. I could post the video link of the game and mark the time for every situation that I have written about in my post, to prove that I am right . One billion dollar team needed all that help to beat Serbia in the semifinals and they barely succeeded
