He was a no-defense 6'4" power forward with no range at all. Top 15.

Barkley had range. He often took shots he shouldn't have, but that is not mutually exclusive with the former.

He was a career 26.6% 3 point shooter. But I aknowledge it was a different era and that if he was coming into the L now it would either be higher or he wouldn't be in the league, but that's still a far way to go to get to top 5 player level. Especially for a 6'4" player.

Barkley isn't a player who should translate even if you ignore the massive talent gap
its my last message in this thread, but I just admit, that all the people, casual and analytical minds, more or less have consencus who has the weight of a rubberized duck. And its not JaivLLLL

An unstoppable offensive wrecking ball with high TS% doesn't translate?

I doubt they thought he'd be rocking prime Adrian Dantley-type efficiency in his own era, as well.

I wouldn't put it past him to be able to crush it like that. He was a FG% monster in his day, coupled to hella foul draw with competent FT shooting, That's a pretty nasty recipe. Prime Chuck was shooting 63, 64% from the field (led the league for half a decade) and was killing it for like 9 to 11 FTA/g at 75% or so. He was a 65, 66% TS guy for half a decade in the 80s into 1990. With the change in spacing, it isn't unattainable. Remember, he was mostly doing this on 15-17 FGA/g, not 18-24, and smashing FTrs between 0.56 and 0.741. FG% at the rim is considerably higher these days for various reasons, so he'd be FEASTING.

Barkley wasn’t 6’4”. He was 6’6” easy. Google his mugshot. He’d feast in this era. Dude averaged 14.6 RPG in just his 3rd season to lead the league and then averaged 28.3 PPG the following season on just 16 FGA per game. Barkley was an athletic freak for his size and weight. He was one of the quickest jumpers (ala Dennis Rodman) in the league and had great hops. Zion is a fat, lazy, homeless man’s Barkley and he’s averaging 23 and 8 this year. Barkley would kill it. Top 5 player easily. Maybe top 3.
