So this should probably split off back to a solo KD thread now that he isn't on the Suns anymore, hey?

The KD era in Phoenix was a terrible experience. There was nothing inspiring to watch across the last 2.5 seasons despite the numbers.

I mean, they did pretty well in the 2023 postseason. They DID lose to the eventual champions, though KD didn't have a great outing during that series (and Jokic tore them apart). The Bradley Beal experiment was dumb, and losing Chris Paul was a problem. Being a big ol' donut team has been an issue.

I think they would have been better off had they not pulled the trigger on Beal, to be honest. That messed them up pretty bad. Meantime, 2024 KD was pretty good, but they got obliterated on the O-boards by the Wolves. Again, nothing up front, right?

One playoff series win in 3 years vs a team without PG and Kawhi missing most of the series. Now they extend Book which is completely pointless with 3 years left on his deal. Ishbia is a smart business man in an industry in which he’s familiar but not the NBA.

Given the injuries and the roster turnover, as well as the major frontcourt weakness, and the chemistry-busting Beal acquisition, that's not actually that bad at all. Ishbia is definitely not a savvy NBA owner, I'll give you that.
