Best modern 10-man Suns rotation

Post#1 » by durantbird » Mon Jul 28, 2025 7:04 pm

Pick ten players, you can use their best season wearing Suns uniform (at least 50% of the season playing for the Suns).
Assemble your best 10-man rotation best suited in your eyes to compete in modern-game environment.

My pick:
Steve Nash / Jason Kidd
Mikal Bridges / Devin Booker
Kevin Durant / Dan Majerle
Charles Barkley / Shawn Marion
Clifford Robinson / Larry Nance

Potential candidates:
Amar'e Stoudemire, Chris Paul, Kevin Johnson, Goran Dragic, Shaquille O'Neal, Alvan Adams, Paul Westphal, Walter Davis, Tyson Chandler, Tom Chambers, Jeff Hornacek, PJ Tucker, Raja Bell, Connie Hawkins

Larry Nance / Marcin Gortat

Difficult as they can't buy a C to buy their life, I considered Mark West who has a solid block rate, but maybe Gortat is a good pick as he can space the floor a bit for Barkley.

Give me Paul Westphal over Devin Booker all the way.

Alvan Adams should start at center, he's perfect for modern offenses as long as you don't need to defend bigger guys in the post.

booker/majerle
kd/bridges
barkley/marion
stoudemire/ayton

kinda generic but when you have nash/kidd at PG shouldn't matter too much.

Bridges seems a little questionable starting over Majerle, Hornacek, Westphal, Davis, and Booker; Bell if you only want 3 and D.

Uncle Cliffy and Nance are some skinny guys if the opp has a big man scorer that can post them. Maybe you put Barkley on them and have everyone else cheat over to help. Barkley was a poor defender but he was immensely strong with a low center of gravity so he isn't going to get pushed around. Shot over, yes, hunted with switches, sure, but not backed down easily by anyone short of Shaq.
