Teams hunt him throughout the playoffs and the Nuggets entire defensive scheme is built around protecting Jokic.

He’s not a huge negative and the Nuggets can field a solid defense with him but it’s despite him not because of him.

Also , claiming Jokic is a better defender than Giannis at any point is pure trolling.

Jokic is certainly a GOAT level offensive player (I’d argue top 5 without question) but the way people ignore his defensive flaws is very interesting.

When Curry was picked on defensively nobody pretended he was a good defender just because the Warriors were able to field good defensive units with him on the floor.

His defensive rebounding helps him be a slight positive on defense in most years even if he is not so good in other areas as is seen in his rDRtgs on first chance offense only vs. second chance offense. In every season of his other than two, he's been a negative defense impact player on first chance offense, but his solid defensive rebounding has ameliorate for his various weaknesses and overall turned him into a slight positive.
