What do you guys think of this player?
To me he's a good offensive engine with a trash supporting cast. A high risk high reward decision maker. Great transition player, and an elite ball-handler. Good shot creation. A good passing bag and an elite post playmaker/at rim. Ok defense, but he has good potential, with his size.

Re: Cade Cunningham
Be interesting to see if he can do more than score in volume at bleh efficiency. His playmaking is quite impressive, and Detroit wasn't exactly a stellar offensive environment for him. He is a pretty impressive shooter, he just isn't great around the rim. If they enable him to create for himself a little less, he might look a little better. None of the conventional stuff really painted him as an elite offensive player.
Top 15 OBPM. -0.3 ScoreVal. Not stunning at all in terms of ORTG ON, but again, not surrounded by stunning offensive talent. Like, Cade's good, but not in the top tier or two as deployed last year. He's a very good playmaker, and not an ideal volume scoring option who gets a touch overrated by raw volume. But his shooting touch is undeniable, as is his vision, and his handles are strong. He's got talent and his value is evident. He's a pretty good overall offensive player who doesn't have a ton around him, so he's likely at least a little better overall than his basic numbers suggest. But using him as a high volume scorer also clearly isn't a hot choice.
All-NBA Third Team, though? Reachable if Detroit does well.
