What actually happened in West's career was his 3pt % was zero. I'm not 'assuming' anything about him not having a reliable 3pt shot, I'm citing the actual reality of what happened in his career. This shouldn't require so much explanation, as it's pretty straightforward.

Except...

I'm sure West would take 3s, especially heaves at the end of the half, etc, but since there's no evidence he can make them at a reliable rate you treat.him like those guys I named, who also couldn't reliably hit 3s.

I fail to see the inconsistency in saying we should treat one functional zero as equivalent to other functional zeroes.

You really haven't explained at all. I think you got yourself very confused about what my criteria is, and what the word 'assumption' means. I'd suggest you go back and re-read my last 5-6 posts.
