The idea that Isiah was a superstar leading his team to the finals a la Bird or Magic is a myth. Isiah's superstar days were behind him by the time Detroit was a title contender. Isiah was just one of an ensemble cast (much like Billups with the Pistons). Yes, he took a lot of the big shots, but he arguably wasn't even the best player on his team. Dumars was. Dumars posted a better PER while being one of the all-time great defenders at his position.
